The Trimbolis At JFK

RE:   WFS Brings Back JFK Building 260

After we published our story of Cargo Building 260 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) February 6, we received a short note from Jerome Trimboli, Jr. that opened up a world of memories. Jerry, today is Branch Manager New York/JFK USA Savino Del Bene . . .
“My father would talk proudly about Seaboard and Flying Tigers back in the days when he was at SAS - Scandinavian Airlines at JFK!"

Our reply:
Hi Jerry,
Recall fondly now, your Dad who, in my mind looking back, was a Saint.
Brilliant early leader and supporter of the fledgling air cargo business in the United States; during a time when SAS over here really punched above their weight as a builder and supporter of everything air cargo.
Jerry and SAS gave so much to organized cargo at a critical period when JFK handled more than 60% of all the international cargo in and out of the USA.
A lot of fun too at events with your dear Mom, Dolores.
Once Jerry had a FAM Trip to Sweden loaded with most of the greats of air cargo.

In the picture at JFK before take-off, Jerry is all the way left, and Nana Jane, my mother is smiling back at me today from the middle, no hat.
Nana travelled to cover the event as our reporter.Worked out great all around.
Early time for a lady reporter in air cargo.
After that, Jerry and I together, working out any challenge would often look at each other and he would say:
     "Send in your Mom."
Love, long life and great health to the Trimboli family in 2025.

P.S. In the picture front row, third from left is Al Shea, who built Icelandair Cargo in USA and further down wearing a white shirt and crew neck sweater stands Angelo Pusateri, who did the same thing for Virgin Atlantic Cargo.
