Athens Is One
Beautiful Airport

     Maybe one of the best kept secrets in the world, the new Athens International airport, called Elefterios Venizelos is breathtakingly beautiful and in every way a living sculpture.
     Functionally superb while allowing for an exquisite combination of natural light, works of art and quiet open spaces, anticipation of the journey aloft takes place long before the aircraft is boarded.
     Curiously, the opposite impression occurs upon arrival as the airport embraces the visitor in mellow welcoming tones punctuated by clear easy to understand terms of classic Greek hospitality.
     What a place, what a superb welcome to next year’s 2004 Olympics and to a world eager for new connections via 21st Century gateways.
     It is no over statement to say that Elefterios Venizelos is to airports, what Greece is and has been to world architecture.

As example, Olympic Airways operates its own and third-party cargo and mail operations and handling from a purpose built operation on airport offering both automated handling and plenty of office staff and operational support on site. Olympic also provides services for Alitalia, British Airways, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways International.
     “Goldair Handling, a partnership between GOLDAIR, GLOBEGROUND, FRAPORT & AEGEAN Airlines offers third-party support from a dedicated facility for Lufthansa Cargo, TNT, UPS and Ver-Avia.
     “Swissport Hellas Cargo S.A., a partnership between Swissport Hellas S.A., and Freight Plus provides cargo services for Aegean Airlines, Air France, Delta Airlines, Emirates, KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines and Swiss Airlines.
     “The point is really that Athens today provides total cargo handling, at a professional level with rapid clearance and total customer support.”
