There is an excellent “Rockwell, Roosevelt & the Four Freedoms Exhibit” going on right now inside The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. The exhibit includes a display with a fantasy Christmas Card by artist Norman Rockwell created in 1952 for Ford Motor Company. Santa drives a Model T, as if it was his sleigh, with an abundance of toys spilling out, including a train set, doll, and a rocking horse. On January 10, an evening event features world-renowned U.S. presidential historian, Doris Kearns Goodwin reflecting on more than 150 years of U.S. history, providing context as well to our most recent, unprecedented presidency. The Ford Museum features all kinds of transportation history, including the Ford Tri-Motor, which served as the first aircraft in wide use for both passengers and cargo. Try and book a room at The Dearborn Inn just across the way from The Ford. Built by Henry Ford, and opened in 1931 to serve passengers at Ford Airport, the sumptuous Dearborn Inn is now operated by Marriott and will make your tour down memory lane complete.
