Cinco De Mayo |
A mariachi band honors medical staff outside Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, as once again it’s Cinco De Mayo, which celebrates the Battle of the Puebla and victory for Mexican rebels over the baddies. Interestingly Cinco De Mayo is not a national holiday in Mexico, In fact the day is celebrated more vigorously in USA. As places to party open up again, we like Tommy’s Mexican Restaurant (Tommy’s Tequila) located “in the sticks” of San Francisco, in the outer Richmond district at 5929 Geary Blvd. (415) 387-4747, if you can get there. Tommy’s has a great full menu, plus takeaway, and limited seating. But the reason you seek this place out is to enjoy the best margarita you have ever tasted. Secret is pure agave, tequila, fresh hand squeezed lime and NO triple sec. |
