American Rates September

Jim Butler

“We continue to expand our network and invest in widebody airplanes, including four more Boeing 787-9s scheduled for delivery this year,” Jim Butler, President of American Airlines Cargo told FlyingTypers.
“In 2016, we’ve added Haneda (HND), Sydney (SYD), and Auckland (AKL) and soon will be adding new service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Hong Kong (HKG).
“Our extensive network and new fuel-efficient planes give us the ability to move cargo quickly and efficiently from one part of the world to the other—from Asia to Latin America and beyond.
“You will also see continued investment in customer experience enhancements like facility improvements, several new temperature-control container options, and staffing increases.
“In Miami alone, we completely re-envisioned the facility layout and have expanded the facility by over 35 percent and also opened five new receiving doors, which have all but eliminated wait times.
“In Dallas we added a brand new material handling system that gives customers the ability to drive up and quickly drop off shipments, as well as a new drive-through cooler improving our ability to connect perishables.
“We also have a number of additional new enhancements at our facilities around the world.
“We can’t specifically talk about rates for competitive reasons, but we find the relationships we have with our customers to be the most important aspect of our business.
“We’re also very focused on premium products and services, like our global temperature-control program, and have made significant investments in customer service to ensure we over-deliver on value month after month.
“Our teams work hard on a daily basis to ensure customers receive the best care and high-quality service they deserve, whether that’s in person, on the phone, or via our website.
“Overall, we believe the reliability we provide with a young fleet, well-trained staff, and enhanced facilities will be the most valuable factor our customers will consider when selecting an air cargo carrier.      “Ultimately, we are investing quite heavily in bringing a better, more informed, and more seamless experience that I hope will continue to reward the loyalty our customers deliver to us.”
