Sullivan's Travels |
This is my all-time favorite ending to a movie. It just replaced the Humphrey Bogart/Claude Rains walk across a foggy hardstand after Ingrid Bergman takes off ending the movie Casablanca, when Bogie says to Rains, “Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.” Here is Joel McCrea and Veronica Lake closing out the 1941 Preston Sturges’ masterpiece “Sullivan’s Travels.” The movie is about a rich guy who goes out and experiences people less fortunate, and learns something. After you watch the clip, find the time, gather the family, and watch the entire movie. You won’t be sorry. Here is a link. Geoffrey |
