Naresh Jets Into New York

Entrepreneur and airline builder Naresh Goyal introduced Jet Airways new service from New York City via Brussels to Mumbai scheduled to commence August 5, at a gala Reveal inside the grand ballroom of New York’s Waldorf Astoria Wednesday July 11.
    Mr. Naresh told FlyingTypers:
“Air cargo that currently develops about 7% will play an increasingly important role in our future.
“We are working toward attaining a 15% contribution from air cargo to the bottom line.”
Naresh Goyal is matter of fact and down to earth as we stand talking about air cargo.
He is the kind of person who makes you feel immediately at ease.
But as he talks he sounds quite visionary about things airline people usually do not deal with.
“I want to see more talented young Indians living and working around the world return to our country and help it reach even further in the 21st century,” Naresh Goyal said.
We understand something of the impact those words had on Jay Shelat, Jet Airways top air cargo executive who departed a great career at American Airlines in the USA and is moving his family from America where they have lived for many years to India where they will all build a new life.
Later, Mr. Goyal addressed a packed audience against a backdrop of high-tech and higher spirited and designer clad flight attendants inside a life-size mockup of all classes of services that will be featured in the carrier’s new 777 fleet.
“We have paid as much attention to the back of the plane as we have to the front, making it the best possible way to travel.
“At the moment the majority of passengers flying to India are flying flag carriers of other countries.
“We think it’s time for us to step up and show that Jet Airways can provide superior travel services.”
Naresh said his dream to build airline service from the U.S. to India via Brussels also makes good business sense for Jet Airways.
“The Brussels connection allows the carrier to pick up additional traffic bound for Delhi and Mumbai.
“That will make our stockholders happy.”
The Brussels break will also afford a brief pause during an 18-hour flight in an uncrowded European gateway facility allowing for better revenue production for sure, but also the opportunity to service aircraft and allow passengers a hassle free break to stretch a bit.
Many industry types are currently looking at the plethora of 14 to 20 hour long distance flights as maybe a bit too long with among other things the quality of life aboard some of these flights disappearing under the distance and time logged.
Naresh said Jet Airways could be the first Indian carrier to provide service to Washington, D.C.
“There should be an Indian flag carrier serving the USA capitol,” he said.
In North America the airline plans to add service over the coming months into Toronto and JFK in addition to Newark and also to Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other destinations.
Leveling his gaze at the audience he concluded his talk in an extraordinarily personal manner
    “We’ll make mistakes.
“Our intention will always be to make things right.
“Let us make you our family by your allowing us to show our love.
“With a smile he told the audience of mostly travel writers, “as our story unfolds, whatever happens don’t write us off.”
