Globe Growing Americas

There are always a varied and interesting group of executives that populate any air cargo trade show.
Last week we caught up with a pioneer of the third party handling form, and one of the first employees of a growing group of companies based in France.
Alain Robillard (left) is President of Globe Air Cargo, and founding member of Globe’s parent company based in Paris, European Cargo Services (ECS).
European Cargo Services has five subsidiaries: Globe Air Cargo Systems, Aero Cargo International, Air Marketing Associates, Globe Air Cargo Inc. and General Airline Services. The company has operations in Tahiti, the United States, China, Belgium, Great Britain, Spain and France.
Robillard: “Look we know customers have choices.
“But here in USA and around the world our dedicated team has built up excellent contacts and customer relationships within the industry.
“Our approach is flexible and innovative which maximizes cargo sales results.
“Documentation, track & tracing, accounting, market and sales, all support what is acknowledged as a seamless and totally professional product service line in air cargo.
“Our GSSA solution for airlines looking to reduce costs is second to none.
“In the Americas for example we serve a select group of highly professional airlines who demand hands on 24/7 support including Emirates, BMI, SN Brussels, Air China, Avianca, Vietnam Air, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Challenge Air Cargo and others.
“Globe wraps up the entire service package for its clients including handling, warehouse space, dedicated airline storage for export and import, computer controlled systems for documents and cargo tracking.
“Located in most cases on airport or just nearby any particular gateway, and helped by a group of well-trained professionals, our handling department co-ordinates all operational handling activities for cargo flights, 24 hours a day.
“Our operational team exists in an atmosphere of total transparency.
“That means we share all vital information with our partner airlines and their customers on a case by case basis to guarantee top service delivery.
“There are no “black holes’ in our product service delivery either.
     “Everybody knows what to expect.
“Linked via several communication networks - SITA, AFTN – Globe Air Cargo offers up to date information to all partners (airlines, forwarders, airports).
“Our cargo transfer facilities offer state of the art security including complete CCT system inside and outside, and are fully equipped with the latest X-Ray security equipment.
“Aircraft operations, aircraft handling and documentation are performed according to the airlines' requirements and are in accordance with IATA recommended practices.
“How to anticipate the future is a key challenge as we move ahead.
“The role the GSA plays is vital to the financial well being of the carriers and industry we serve.
“There are tremendous pressures and mega-competition to achieving that goal from integrators and others.
“But our goal is to keep our customers close and mistakes to a minimum.
“Quality and reliability has built our reputation, but looking for ways to do the job better drives our future.”

Globe's French Connection
Paris-based Globe Air Cargo System was launched in 1982 by its president - Guy Tordjman and right from the start, the Latin America region was his target.
Representing Tampa Airlines in Europe Tordjman saw the potential for European exports to Colombia.
Rapid development has followed with new customers and cities opened in the Americas.
Commenting on the progress of the company, Messieur Tordjman noted:
"Carrying out the function of a GSA, which is our core business, is becoming more demanding and at the same time more exciting.
“Of course, maximizing cargo sales is the number one priority, but with that must go excellent back-up and expertise in all aspects of cargo operations, including handling.
“We are constantly looking at and evaluating new ideas and new ways of doing things and investing in our worldwide operations.”
