East Airlines (MEA) launched its new $25 million cargo center, replacing
a facility that had been in use since Salim Salam was chairman. Photo

Today’s MEA Chairman Mohammad Hout told reporters:
“We decided to build for the future after studying
the numbers very carefully.”
“Our new cargo center more than triples the capacity
of the old terminal and has all the bells and whistles, including ultra
heightened security and the ability to handle the shipments of other carriers
utilizing Beirut Rafik Hariri International Airport,” Hout said.
“The thinking in Beirut is that it is time for
shippers to come back and share the advantages and rich culture for cargo
that is alive and well and growing in today’s Lebanon,” a
source told FlyingTypers.
