Cargo Mourns Death Of DFW's Bill Frainey
Bill
Frainey, (46) Assistant Vice President, Air Service Development of DFW
International Airport died suddenly while on a business trip to Sydney
yesterday, (March 24). Mr. Frainey was in Australia having just announced
first ever new service into DFW by Qantas starting May 16.
Before
joining DFW in 2001 Bill worked as an analyst for American
Airlines.
He
received his BA in Business at Oregon State University 1983-87 and
his MBA at William & Mary (1990-92).
“I feel very saddened,” said his
friend Ram Menen DSVP of Emirates SkyCargo “to have lost a good
friend.
“Every now and then a ray of sunshine
shines thru, Bill was just that and he was always great fun to be with.
“We are all going to miss him very dearly.
“May the good Lord bless his soul and
may he rest in peace.”
“I'm stunned,” said his friend Richard
Norris, Head of Air Cargo Development, Metropolitan Washington Airports

“Bill was a good friend and a true airport
professional. He was always willing to provide advice and assist whenever
I asked.
“I am saddened by his passing and will
keep his family in my prayers.
“He will be profoundly missed by our airport
community.”

Jersey remembered Bill Frainey:
“On the Airports Council North America
Air Cargo Committee, I served as Vice Chairman last year when Bill was
Chairman.
“I learned a lot from Bill and loved
his enthusiasm.
“There was always a sparkle in his
eyes.
“My thoughts and prayers are with
him and his family.”
Warren Jones, Aviation Development Manager,
Hartsfield Jackson International Airport said:
“Bill Frainey was a good friend of mine.
“While our airports competed for new business,
Bill and I had a working relationship that complemented each other.
“When we proposed route developments to
airlines, we would promote each other's airports.
“This method worked quite well with Cathy
Pacific Cargo and others.
“We also worked together on ACI-NA air
cargo committees, and I appreciated his support and wealth of knowledge.
“I will miss my friend.”
