Air Cargo Forum & Exhibition (ACF) takes place in Paris from October 26-28.

. . But in France last Saturday, thousands
of activists and sympathizers took over Nante’s
main highway to protest construction of the 580-million-euro
project aimed
at replacing the current Nantes
Atlantique Airport, which only has a
capacity of 3 million passengers. The
Aéroport du Grand Ouest wants
to increase that number to 9 million by 2050 to become
an international gateway for western France. One month
after the Paris Climate Conference, critics say they’re
concerned about the carbon and climate implications
of a new airport. Environmentalist Nicolas
Hulot said on Saturday to French daily
Le Monde, “Notre-Dame-des-Landes Airport is one
of those projects we should abandon.” For the
record, people in the region have opposed a new airport
for the past 30 years.

. . On Tuesday, January 12, Airbus
SA CEO Fabrice Bregier delivered
a speech during the annual press conference in Paris.
Airbus won hundreds more plane orders last year
than rival Boeing,
but the American plane builder handed over more
aircraft to customers. Airbus SA said that it exceeded
its targets in 2015, taking in 1,036 net orders
and delivering 635 jets to airlines and other buyers. |
