What
happened to Tim Peirce?
They took my friend’s airport away.
It was a place where he grew up and then managed for 23 years, and that
broke his heart, and he died.
It's been 14 years, and it's taken me this
long to finally share these words.
This music is for Tim, but also for all
of us who loved him, and wish to celebrate him.
When I think about it, that night we saluted
Tim in Queens, New York, at Terrace on the Park, along with Vince
Bonaventura, General Manager of Newark International and Richard Rowe,
General Manager of JFK International (in a move that defies wisdom, and
even decency, Port Authority of New York & New Jersey fired all three
airport managers at once—so we saluted them all together) maybe
I should have said more or at least spoken the words in my heart.
But here it is, and the memory of our time
only grows fonder.
So ‘Peirce Another Heart” marks
a slight change in the story, with some further shared emotions.
I hope you enjoy the words & music.
